What if researchers could identify dementia early just by testing your hearing? Could that help to delay its onset – or even someday prevent dementia altogether? Ear Science researcher, Hadeel Tarawneh, is spending the next three years examining the subject closely through her PhD – and creating tools to help.

Meet Hadeel
Hadeel Tarawneh is an emerging researcher, who at 22 years old, has graduated with a degree in Neuroscience at UWA and continued to study a Masters in Biomedical science. Now, Hadeel is specialising in auditory neuroscience, or the science of sound.
“I have always had an interest in neuroscience and following this path into research has already been a very rewarding experience,” Hadeel said.
“I am looking forward to contributing to this amazing field in a valuable way and growing as a researcher.”
