LIGHTWEIGHT ALUMINIUM BEAM FRAME

In order to achieve the best balance of chassis strength and rigidity, the bilateral beam frame of the YZ450F Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Edition' uses varying thicknesses of aluminium throughout its structure. The desired rigidity balance is also achieved by using a special combination of steel and aluminium engine mounts – for agile handling and precise cornering.

YZ450F Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Edition riders can benefit from a smart piece of software that can give you a real advantage. Using your smartphone it's simple to tune the engine's power delivery, via the Yamaha Power Tuner app. The easy-to-use system enables you quickly and easily set-up your bike to suit varying track and surface conditions.

HANDLEBAR-MOUNTED 2-MODE MAPPING SWITCH

Once you've selected your two preferred engine maps and preloaded them for your riding session using the Power Tuner app you can select your mapping using the handlebar-mounted switch. This on-the-fly adjustment enables you to switch the mapping mode – with the throttle shut – while riding, giving you the ultimate control in all conditions.

IMPROVED SUSPENSION SETTINGS

Yamaha's suspension is one of the best standard set-ups fitted to a production bike, and for 2022 the best-in-class SSS (Speed Sensitive System) front forks and the tried and tested monocross rear suspension feature revised low speed damping settings – for better handling and excellent feedback.

LAUNCH CONTROL SYSTEM

The Launch Control System (LCS) on the YZ450F Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Edition optimises the engine's power output and running characteristics during the first few seconds of the race after the gate drops. By helping to transmit power more efficiently, the LCS gives you greater controllability off the starting line and increases your holeshot-winning performance over and over again.

NEW LIGHTWEIGHT CHASSIS COMPONENTS

Any reduction to unsprung weight makes a significant improvement in suspension performance, and the 2022 YZ450F Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Edition is fitted with a new lightweight rear hub as well as a lighter chain that shave 0.2kg off the weight.

MASS-CENTRALISED WRAPAROUND EXHAUST

For enhanced mass-centralisation the YZ450F Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Edition is fitted with a wraparound exhaust that snakes around the cylinder, and this design enables the fitment of a muffler that is mounted further forwards. Combined with the rearward-slanted cylinder, this design helps to keep weight close to the bike's centre for light and agile nimble handling.

ROBUST CLUTCH AND TRANSMISSION

The robust 5-speed transmission benefits from specially-developed gears with a large surface area – and together with a heavy-duty clutch this delivers high levels of durability. And for a positive feel when shifting gear, the shift drum and selectors are designed to give a short stroke.
